CODIPSA was created in 1998. It started as a small cassava starch business and over time it became a referent company in the Paraguayan industry. It was conceived as a business project with a social focus, providing an alternative means for the generation of sustainable income for farming families in Paraguay, located in rural areas of lower economic development in the country. The first plant was opened in 1998, followed in the years after by three more plants, one of which is fully equipped with European technology, a modified starch production unit and a corn starch production plant. During the period 1998-2003, the company consolidated its brand in the Paraguayan market, becoming a referent in the field. 2004 marked the beginning of the internationalization of the company, and of the CODIPSA brand, with the first exports to the regional market (MERCOSUR). Currently, Codipsa is the leading exporter of native cassava starch throughout the American continent, besides being present in other continents such as Europe and Africa. As a natural consequence of entering into international markets, with high demanding parameters, Codipsa faced challenges related to continuous quality improvement. Its journey began in 2012 with the ISO 9001 certification, to later access the Kosher, FDA (Food and Drug Administration of USA), Gluten Free certification, and in 2016 to consolidate with the ISO 22 000. Codipsa understands that the commitment to the quality of its products and the services it offers to its customers must be constantly assessed in the search for improvement opportunities.
